We were met at the airport in Istanbul by a representative of the tour agency Jan had worked through to set up our trip. It turns out that even if you want your own itinerary, as we did, you get the best prices and arrangements if you work through a Turkish tour company. Our rep was this charming young woman named Ilgin Kilinc. She was a totally modern Turkish woman, and quickly established what was to become a relatively constant theme through out our trip.

Our lovely Ilgin was an incredible resource. She called us about every second or third day, just to check on how things were going, could she do anything to make things better, was the hotel ok, did we want a different rental car later in the trip, etc. We really felt cared for, and felt that we had someone constantly looking out for our best interests.

We urge all of you to think about taking a trip like this at some time. The Turks were universally welcoming to us, hospitable to the extreme. Turkey has an unbeatable combination of "adventure" activities, cultural mecca like nowhere else in the world, truly turquoise water, exquisite luxury in accommodations, stellar food, and shopping to die for. At no point we feel any hostility, felt safe and welcome everywhere we went. We had a great time.

I just got my photos of Turkey back from the lab. As I went through them I was reminded of all the special moments during our three week odyssey. Most of these special times are a direct outgrowth of your vast knowledge and superb itinerary planning. When we shared our itinerary with Turks we met who inquired about our travels, each and every one of them commented on what an outstanding program we had.

Each guide you provided added something positive to our experience. All three were knowledgeable, friendly and very responsive to our requests.

And I haven't stopped telling friends about the glorious week long gulet adventure. The gulet itself was magnificent and the food wonderfully fresh and delicious! The pace of cruising,snoozing, hiking to ancient sites and swimming was perfect. And having archeologist Edip guide us was a highlight of that week. I can't remember when I've felt so awed and so relaxed.

I will send you a few photos. In the meantime, I want to express my gratitude to you for your generosity in sharing your in-depth knowledge of Turkey and giving our trip the amount of Time, organizational talent and special attention you gave it. We would like to thank you for the wonderful holiday we have just experienced. We have returned from Turkey after a memorable and enjoyable tour. We know that you worked hard to put together the trip for Maureen and our gang. There were so many highlights it is impossible to pick out just one. The only word we can use about our guide Nedime, is fantastic. She had the ability to keep a group of Australians together and on time at all the points of interest. Her knowledge of her country was immense and she could convey that knowledge to us in an interesting and sometimes humorous fashion. She was part of our group, not just the guide. The big coach and the captain were excellent, the hotels great, and the itinerary superb. We felt very safe at all times. We have been to many countries in the world but our Turkey experience is one that will be treasured forever. We both like to return.

Both Shirley and I would just like to thank you very much for the work you put into planning our holiday in Turkey.

We were both quite surprised at the sophistication of Istanbul, and of course the history is just mind-blowing. All the local Turkish people were friendly, and we had absolutely no trouble at any stage of our trip.

Our guide, Bitsy, was just fantastic, and is a real find. Her knowledge of the history was fantastic, and the way she presented it and managed the four of us, with regards to our requests, and the discussions regarding local politics, history and all those sorts of things, were just fantastic. She would be an asset to any tour company.
