Dear Sirma, Ilgin, Yavuz, Murat, and the crew of the Elifsu;

We are back at home and slowly recovering from jet lag, all the while savoring our wonderful, wonderful trip to Turkey last month.

Sirma, we can't thank you enough for all your efforts on our behalf. Since last summer you have worked with us helping devise the "perfect" itinerary for our four weeks in Turkey. The end result far exceeded our expectations. It was extraordinary!

We loved the country and its varied landscapes from the beautiful Mediterranean seaside towns, to the eerie, unusual moonscape that is Cappadocia, the vast agricultural plains, and the snow capped mountains. We especially loved Istanbul's hustle and bustle and its mix of Asian and European influences.

Everyone we met was unfailingly kind and helpful and anxious to be friendly, especially the children. Even the vendors, though eager to sell us their wares, were friendly and courteous.

Thank you, Yavuz. You had to "put-up" with us for the two-week road trip as well as daily in Istanbul. You are patience personified! We appreciated your diplomacy and your sense of humour as you tried to impart your knowledge of Turkey to us. Thanks to your efforts, we gained a greater understanding of Turkish history, past and present, and of Islam as well.

Murat, thanks to you also. We felt very comfortable with you at the wheel of our van. And thank you for your patience in helping us in our constant search for internet cafes, laundries, and wine stores.

And to the crew of the Elifsu- Masallah!! From the moment we boarded until we disembarked , you catered to our every need. Never have we felt so pampered. We'll remember Yusuf's wonderful, varied, and oh-so plentiful meals, Cengiz's cheerful and constant refrain "relax", Hakan's quiet and shy demeanor as he waited on us hand and foot, and Captain Erkan's competence and knowledge of the sea and his boat. A photo of Elifsu now graces the home page of our computer.

Sirma, again, thank you so much for everything. Bravo Credo!!

Kindest Regards and Best Wishes,
The Donlans, Lightfoots and Lyles,

Dear Ilgin,

Our trip to Turkey was a great success thanks to your careful preparations. All the hotels were very comfortable and some unique. We saw more sights and had a much better idea of what we were looking at because of the excellent guides you provided. Nedime was very professional and good to be with.

In Cappadocia, our guide Uzay took great pride in your cuisine. We loved all the variety and now are cooking Turkish dishes since we have been home! He also went out of his way(the driver also) to show us more of Ankara than was planned because of the unexpected change in TA's flight schedule. We particulary liked the visit to the major Mosque and the historical museum. Our only "complaint" is that we ate way to much and that "dinner on our own" was a problem because we were not hungry. If only the world's problems were so easy to solve. The Bektasi order seems to emphasize the same values that we value.

Our trip to Ephesus was very good. Our guide Ayse was very good in bringing the sight alive. As a retired teacher, she had much in common with Sukey. She felt lucky when her classes size was as low as 40 students, whereas our teachers feel lucky when class size is as low as 20 students. It was interesting to have a guide to talk about present day Turkey, as well as historical Turkey and Ayse did this. The trip to Aphrodisias was interesting and we hope further excavations may enhance this wonderful sight.

The break at Pamukkale helped us get in the holiday spirit.

We had a good time at Fethiye. Holly enjoyed a scuba dive. Sukey and I went to Xanthos and other Lycean spots with Ismail. He seemed well-informed and was good company. We really enjoyed hearing his childhood memories as a nomad. We discussed environmental problems and lack of respect for the environment.

Many thanks for your excellent trip. It is possible my brother in law and I might look into a sailing trip in a couple of years. We will certainly contact you if our plans develop. In the meantime our best wishes and many thanks,

Mark & Sukey Schroeder/ USA

Ilgin, my dear one-

There are not enough words available to me to express my heartfelt appreciation for the good service you have provided for us during our wonderful Turkish experience.

Our itinerary, transportation, and guides have all been excellent. The hotels and food provided were very fine, we would suggest that anyone coming to Turkey contact you at Credo Tours to make arrangements for a dream vacation.

I hope we can keep in touch once in a while, and that some day you can visit us in America!

Warmly,
