We had a wonderful time and Gunhan Borecki our guide was excellent, as was our driver Seyit. Gunhan was friendly and outgoing, exceptionally knowledgeable about the sites, history, cultures and able to convey the information very effectively with nearly perfect English. He went out of his way to be responsive to our interests and desires. As an example, when we said we were interested in seeing the whirling dervishes if there were a real ceremony even though we would not be there during the usual fourth Sunday date when that would be open, he arranged for us to visit just such a ceremony and it was a highlight. Another example was that he added a trip to visit the city walls given our interest in such sites. The itinerary was very good. Never a dull day and great variety and interest without ever feeling we were repeating something. Gunhan established a good balance between encouraging us to see and experience the different itinerary selections and realizing if we were getting exhausted. The first full day was exhausting (probably needs adjustment as seemed to be too much driving for a single day's orientation) and we were not able to finish the Sadberk Hanim museum which had an Iznik tile exhibit as well as the regular collection so Gunhan arranged for a return visit by juggling things a bit. The lunch restaurant choices Credo and he made were also varied and always excellent. The balloon trip was highlight for us too. Our driver and guide were both excellent at dodging bad traffic on the roads and crowds at the sites. We never felt we were part of a tour group. We were very fortunate on the weather and despite the rains of the week before our trip, we never had rain while we were there, and generally had full sunshine at every location. We especially liked the Four Seasons Bosphorus and its great view, although the Sultanahmet was also excellent (though the room there lacked any view). Also we liked the Izmir Swissotel executive floor with its great view and access to excellent complimentary food and drink for breakfast and dinner, which more than made up for the smallish room and lack of bathroom privacy. All in all a very memorable and enjoyable trip!

We have just arrived back in Boston, and wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had in Turkey. All the arrangements you made turned out perfectly - the hotels and each of the transfers. We loved Bodrum and the Marmara hotel. It's a very special place. And the night at the Charisma hotel was perfect after 3 days in the caves! Each of the guides were great, although having Canan as our guide for the first 3 days was really special. We feel we really got an understanding of Cappadocia from Ur, and the hikes with him were an added benefit. We thought Serdar did a great job in Ephesus and amazed us with stories and his knowledge of the area. It was a very special family vacation - and we loved the country and the people we met. We hope it won't be long before we return.
